WEDNESDAY APRIL 11th, 2007

With our European Tour almost over now, the DI CREW will not be at rest. We are glad to anounce that the band will perform at the New England Hardcore and Metalfest on April 27th. But most important, with our new album coming out on May 22nd, we are more than happy to confirm a full US run with our friends in The Red Chord, TTEOTD, All Shall Perish and See You Next Tuesday! The tour kicks off in Philly and will cover most of the United States.

See ya there!

FRIDAY MARCH 23rd, 2007

After going through tons of audition videos, we’d like to introduce our new guitarist; from Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Alan Glassman (Goratory, ex-Burn In Silence). Al learned and played the songs perfectly but most of all, he’s an awesome dude and we’re glad to have him as a guitarist and as a friend. He joined us on our latest Canadian tour and proved to us and to the rest of the crowd that he’s the perfect guy for the band. Thumbs up!

We just got home from our Canadian tour a couple of days ago. Almost every single show was sold out! We hadn't toured home in while and we'd like to thank everyone that showed up for making this a memorable experience. We are currently touring Europe with Unearth, JFAC and Daath. This is our first time touring overseas and we are stoked about it.

We hope to see you there!

FRIDAY JANUARY 26th, 2007

We have a new Despised Icon/Ion Dissonance t-shirt design available exclusively through www.indiemerchstore.com for a limited time only. Check it out! Recording is going very well. Drums and guitars are all done. Bass and vocals are about halfway done. The album will feature gang vocals by members and ex-members of Ion Dissonance, Beneath the Massacre, Neuraxis, Cryptopsy and more. Get stoked! Auditions for a new guitarist are now closed and we're trying out the best next week right before we shoot our new video and head out the UK to mix and master the album.

Talk to you guys soon.

FRIDAY JANUARY 19th, 2007

We've been in the studio for about 2 weeks now. The drums were recorded with a click track/metronome and the result is tight as fuck. Seriously, some of the parts on this record are faster then anything we've done in the past. Alex's drumkit sounds amazing. Expect more blastbeats and gravity blasts! We've drilled holes in our heads and came up with loads of inventive breakdowns for you mosh enthousiasts. I know this is the type of stuff that all bands say but trust me, it's true and you won't be disappointed.

Guitars are about halfway done and we can't wait to see how killer things will sound once Andy Sneap starts mixing the whole thing. He made some of the best sounding recordings out there so we're defenitely stoked to be working with him. Don Clark from Invisible Creature is currently working on our album layout. He handled the art direction on Norma Jean's last 2 albums so you know it's going to look sick. We've worked twice as hard on this record and are very pleased with how it's coming along.

Thanks to all of those who have tried out/shown interest for the guitarist spot. We've just picked the top 3 candidates and will invite them over to Montreal to jam and hang out with us as soon as we come back from the studio. Future plans include the shooting of our new video with DBM Films in February and a Canadian and Europeen tour in March/April. We're stoked to finally tour Europe and can't wait to play in our country again!

Check back soon for more updates.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 17th, 2006

Hey everyone, some great and bad news to report. First, we'll start off with the good. We have our first European tour finally confirmed in March and April with Unearh, JFAC and Daath. Should be an amazing tour. We want to thank Paul Conroy and everyone in the Unearth camp for hooking this up for us. Right before we leave, we'll be doing a bunch of Canadian and a few US dates.

Next off, our guitar player, Yannick St-Amand will unfortunately be leaving the band to focus more on his family life. It’s hard to see him go. We can’t thank him enough for his contribution to this band and we’ll always remember the good times we all had. We wish him the best with his wife and new born child. Yannick will now be a full time studio engineer and producer, with our new record being next in line for him. The recording starts January 2nd! Yannick will produce everything, then head over to the UK with Eric to hook up with Andy Sneap and oversee the mixing. Eric and Alex P. have worked hard writing most of this record and we’re all stoked about it!

So this brings us to our next announcement. We’re looking for a good guy/experienced guitarist that is ready to tour right away. To audition, learn “Bulletproof Scales” and “Warm Blooded”. Click here for the tabs (www.despisedicon.com/DI_Tabs.zip). Tape yourself playing the songs, upload the footage and send us a link to your video at despisedicon@yahoo.ca

See you on tour.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 30th, 2006

We've been taking some time off to finish writing new songs, things are looking good for 2007 with a new album around April/May and of course some good tours to promote this new release. The Monsters Of Mayhem tour was a huge success for us, special thanks to Matthew "Woody" Woods who's been behind the board every night we played, we wish him good luck and hope to work with him again in the future. Hail to all the bands we've met and hanged out with on this crazy run: Black Dahlia Murder, First Blood, Napalm Death, Exodus and the mighty Hatebreed. With just a month to go before recording, we will not play any shows 'till the album is recorded and mixed which will bring us back on the road in March. Till then, keep it brutal!

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10th, 2006

We are more than happy to announce that our next album will be mixed and mastered by none other than Andy Sneap! Being fans of all his studio works, we are entering studio next January to have him finalize the album early February. The Hatebreed tour is awesome, all the bands are incredible and we're having a fucking great time! Please, continue to show up early when doors open cuz we play at 6h30 pm every night!

Finally, the online merch store is up, feel free to check out the designs we have at this location or simply click on our merch section:

WEDNESDAY MAY 17th, 2006

The Masters of Chaos tour with Morbid Angel, Behemoth and Krisiun is over. It was pretty cool to play in some cities for the first time. Huge thanks to our fans that paid the full-price ticket and showed up just to see us play a 25 minutes set! It is much appreciated. We have a couple of shows throughout the summer including some festivals but we'll mainly focus on the songwriting so we can record our next album by the end of the summer.

On the news front, we've just released a split CD with Ion Dissonance on Galy Records that features both bands previous demos. Most of these tracks were never officially released or were simply printed in limited quantities. By popular demand, we decided to join forces with our friends in ID to get them available for everyone. Check it out in our media section or on the Galy Records website.

Finally we'd like to take the time to thank all the companies we've been endorsed by, it made a real difference for us while being on the road. By the way, Me and Yannick shot a little video for D'Addario strings, check it out by clicking on the following link:

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12th, 2006

Our US East Coast Tour was a huge success, thanks to everyone for showing up. It was great to see and hang out with our buddies from Suffocation and Dehumanized (John). We've made good friends amongst Through The Eyes Of The Dead and Ed Gein, we wish them good luck for the rest of the tour. After almost 200 shows in support of our latest album "The Healing Process", focus is now on the writing of the new album which will be produced next summer. If you haven't had the chance to catch us live, we'll be touring North America once again next April as part of the Masters Of Chaos Tour with none other than Morbid Angel, Behemoth and Krisiun. Hope to see you there!

MONDAY NOVEMBER 14th, 2005

It’s good to be back. Touring with Suffocation, Cryptopsy and Aborted for almost a month and a half and hanging out with some of you was awesome. Our last 2 shows of the year will be Dec 2nd Ste-Hyacinthe, QC and Dec 3rd Sherbrooke, QC with Ion Dissonance and more. We’ve started writing new material and will be taking the next 2 months off to write more songs. We hope to be back in the US by March and also plan on touring in the Maritimes later next year.
