August 10, 2008 : Back from Summer Slaughter, getting ready for more shows in Europe and Canada

So Summer Slaughter ended up being wild as fuck! Thanks for rocking out with us and making it our best US tour ever. We won’t be coming back there this year so we’re gonna miss you guys. We’ve been home for over a week now, chilling out and getting ready to hit Europe for the second time this year. It’ll be our first time playing festivals over there and we can’t wait to experience the chaos! To all our friends back home, we’ll be playing our last 3 Quebec shows of the year as soon as we’re back from Europe at the end of the month, hope to see you then!

June 18, 2008 : New bassist

We’re all sad to see Sebastien go. He’s been with us since the very start, dedicating over 6 years of his life to this band. With his first child on the way, a new house and a real full time job, Seb decided he could no longer sustain the touring lifestyle. We’re all proud of everything he’s accomplished and thankful for his contribution to Despised Icon. Merci pour tout man!

Stepping in on bass is our friend Max Lavelle from Goratory. Our guitarist Al and him have known each other for over 10 years and have shared quite a few bands together. After filling in for Seb on the last 4 tours, Max proved to be the ideal guy for the job. He’s got it all, from mad bass skills to big muscles. Welcome on board Max!

June 17, 2008 : Back from the Montreal Assault, DVD update

So we’ve been home for a week now. The Montreal Assault Tour was amazing. Every venue was packed and every show was filled with intense screaming, kicking, stage diving and circle pitting! Thanks to every single one of you for coming out, representing our province and making this tour far better then anything we had hoped for. Merci vraiment! If all goes to plan, we’ll most likely turn the Montreal Assault into an annual event. We’ll keep you posted.

Our live DVD shoot in Montreal was crazy as fuck by the way. The show was sold out! We had tons of special guests and played our longest set ever! It was probably one of our most memorable life experiences to date. The DVD should come out in the fall on Century Media. Keep an eye out for it.
