February 04, 2014 : Despised Icon 2014 Reunion Shows
It’s been over 3 years already since we played our last shows and long story short, we genuinely miss it. After a few talks and a couple of beers, we decided to get back together temporarily to play a handful of shows.
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be returning to Europe in April on the Impericon Festivals in Vienna, Manchester and Cologne. To our friends in Canada and the US, we’ll have some good news for you as well in a few weeks. Thanks for sticking around with us after all these years. Can’t wait to see you all and crush the stage, one more time. Keep it brutal!

October 06, 2010 : Last shows in Quebec and Ontario
We started it all almost 9 years ago already, playing our first shows back home in Quebec and Ontario. We figured it would be nice to end things where we started. We’re happy to announce that our final shows will take place in Quebec and Ontario from November 29th to December 5th. There will be no more shows after that. Let’s end things right. See you then!
August 16, 2010 : Asia and Australia, the last tour
This is it, the final run! Asia and Australia, the last 2 spots on our wishlist. So stoked to finally make it your way! This will be our last tour. Come hang out and be part of the chaos. See you guys soon!
July 21, 2010 : Final North American Tour announced
It’s been a little while since we’ve checked in with you guys. We’re currently enjoying our first summer at home in over six years and it feels pretty damn good. However, we did receive amazing news a few days ago. Our last North American run is almost completely booked. We’ll be touring most of the U.S. and Canada in September and October with our friends in Misery Index, Revocation and The Last Felony. We’re stoked to have three of our favorite death metal bands on board with us for the final tour and urge you guys to check them out if you haven’t already. Stay tuned as dates are coming soon.

Dates just added! We’ll be going to Russia one last time in August!

We’ll be playing the Wacken Open Air for the first time and will also be part of this year’s Summer Breeze, Brutal Assault, Ieperfest, Hevy Fest and Sucks N Summer European festivals. See you in August for one last epic run!
To all our friends in the US and Canada, we’re currently booking our last North American tour which should take place in September and October. We’ll keep you posted!
April 08, 2010 : We are NOT cancelling shows!
If it wasn’t clear enough, we want to assure everyone that we will be playing all the tours and all the shows that we’ve been announcing for the rest of 2010.
This means that we will be doing all the European shows scheduled for the next months, including the France/Spain/Portugal tour starting next Friday along with the Parkway Drive Tour that is to take place in a few weeks.
Also you can count on us to be part of the major summer festivals next August as this will be our last run in Europe. We are working right now at booking final tours in all the major areas we’ve been touring for the past 6 years.
Rest assured, we are NOT canceling a single show! So please, come hang out one last time with us!
April 07, 2010 : Despised Icon is breaking up
The time has come for us to move on. Some of us have recently reached a new chapter in their lives, starting families, buying houses and pursuing other careers to make it all happen. Writing music, touring and leaving home for months at a time is slowly becoming impossible because of that. We all decided that it’d be best to pull the plug now and end things right.
It’s hard to believe we started this band almost 10 years ago already. At first, Despised Icon was mostly just an excuse to hang out, write brutal slam riffs and play local shows once in a while. With your support, we got the opportunity to actually play music for a living, make friends around the world, be MVPs and travel to places we never even dreamed of visiting in our lifetime. Thank you all for some of the best times of our lives.
We’re currently working on setting up our final tours in Canada, USA and Europe. Expect to see us in a town near you sometime before the end of the year. If all goes as planned, we’ll also be touring Australia and Asia for the first time in the fall. We’ll keep you posted on everything. These last shows will be fucking epic! See you guys then!
Ces derniers shows vont tuer! On se revoit là!

We’re going back to the UK in April with Parkway Drive, Winds Of Plague, The Warriors and 50 Lions!
October 10, 2009 : Canadian album launch shows in December!
“Day Of Mourning” has been out in stores for 2 weeks now. It actually made # 162 on the Billboard charts during its first week in the US, surpassing opening week sales of all 3 of our previous records combined. That makes us one of the only Quebec bands to ever make it on Billboard! We put so much time and effort into this record. Thank you all. Your support means the world to us.
After relentlessly touring the US and Europe from September 25th to November 21st, playing 52 shows in support of our new record in the fall, we’ll finally make our way back home and get ready for a few album launch shows in Canada. We’ll be teaming up with Cryptopsy, The Acacia Strain, Trapped Under Ice and Blind Witness during the first weekend of December. I can’t think of a better way to finish off the year!
Thursday December 3rd – Ottawa, ON @ Babylon
Friday December 4th – Toronto, ON @ Opera House
Saturday December 5th – Montreal, QC @ Medley
Sunday December 6th – Quebec City, QC @ Imperial
October 09, 2009 : Day Of Mourning Tour update from the road. Getting ready for the Never Say Die Tour.
The Day Of Mourning Tour is already halfway done. We hadn’t played in a lot of these cities in a while and it definitely felt great to be back, see a few familiar faces and rock the fuck out! Thanks to everyone that came out and supported the bands. We’ve gone through a lot on this tour so far: colds, bronchitis, fevers, van problems, snow storms on the road, blocked highways and 8 to 13 hour long drives almost every night. To top it all off, a tire blew up on Eric’s hand and broke his left index finger! He’s actually playing guitar with only 3 fingers every night and pulling it off! Despite all the bullshit, the shows have been awesome thanks to you guys and we’re looking forward to the rest of the tour!
Right after this, we’ll make a short stop in Montreal for 2 days and then fly over to Europe to headline the Never Say Die Tour and meet up with our homies in Oceano, Architects and ABRB. Only 3 weeks left before we go back to the Old Continent. Last year’s edition of NSD was so much fun and we’re excited to be part of the line-up again. Can’t wait!
September 22, 2009 : The time has come!
